Why orchids are better than children

So Chief Suncloud died. He was a bit sickly to begin with. We watered him, misted him, but to no avail. The good news is- he was just a plant. Eleven bucks down the drain but other than that, no harm done. I got a new orchid for graduation. Jord suggested we name it Chief Suncloud II and Jo suggested we name it Chief Suncloud Too. It's mine so I disregarded their suggestions and settled on Queen Redwing, Chief Suncloud's wife and Jordan's 9th-great grandmother. In other orchid news: we planted a cutting from Thisbe. It makes me feel a bit like a mad scientist. We planted it in Chief Suncloud's pot. It's not heartless or insensitive. They're just orchids.
